Author Spotlight & Giveaway: Cindy Kirk!

*Giveaway at the end of this post!*
During February’s blogaversary, get to know the women who write the romances I fall in love with.  They have all graciously offered to give away books! Here’s a list of fun questions I asked these wonderful ladies and their responses. Some answers were quite interesting and surprising. You’ll see!  Comments and questions are welcome!
Today’s featured author is the lovely Cindy Kirk!
1. What genres do you write?

Contemporary Romance

2. Coffee or tea lover?

3. Name one thing on your bucket list.

A round-the-world cruise. Hey, if you ask me to dream, I’ll dream big. 🙂

4. Do you have pets?

 Chico, a Dorkie (dachshund/yorkie mix) The.Best.Dog.Ever!

5. When I wake up every morning  I …the first thing I do is turn on my Keurig. See question #2

6. Weirdest or unique thing you own.

An antique vase with a face on it

7. Do you have any hobbies or particular skills?

Honestly, no.

8. What do you hope readers will experience or gain when reading your stories?

A recent reviewer said this about Be Mine in Good Hope, but I believe it applies to any book I write– “not only a beautiful and romantic love story, but a story of family, friendship and what matters most in life.”

Cindy Kirk started writing after taking a class at a local community college. But her interest in the written word started years earlier when she was in her teens. At sixteen she wrote in her diary, “I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t be a writer.”
It took Cindy years to return to her first love—writing. Unlike some writers, Cindy wasn’t interested in shorter works of fiction. She jumped feet first into book length fiction. She loves reading and writing romance because she believes in the power of love and in happily ever after. An incurable romantic, Cindy loves seeing her characters grow and learn from their mistakes and, in the process, achieve a happy ending.
Cindy hopes that once you read her books you’ll be able to tell she is an eternal optimist, one who truly believes in the power of love. She invites you to kick off your shoes, pick up one of her books and get to know her.
She and her high school sweetheart husband live on an acreage in Nebraska with their dog, Chico.

Celebrated hairstylist Marigold Bloom knows how to tease beauty out of chaos…until her own life becomes untamable. After losing her prestigious job in Chicago, Marigold returns home to Good Hope, Wisconsin. But her plan to lay low and consider her next move is complicated by an unexpected blast from the past.

Sheriff Cade Rallis has never forgotten the blissful weekend he spent with the irresistible Marigold in Door County. Seeing her again is like a one-two punch to his heart, and he knows he can’t lose her a second time.

Marigold never meant for her stay in Good Hope to be permanent, and she certainly never meant to fall for Cade. As Valentine’s Day approaches and her dream job beckons, will Cupid’s grip on Marigold be strong enough to keep her in Good Hope? Or will the lure of fame and fortune in the big city prove impossible to resist?

  1. Cindy Kirk would be a new read for me. Over the years, I have been through a lot of different story types. And contemporary romance is one that I come back to often.
I would love to know what kind of a face is on the vase? Like it has a persons face?

    1. Forgot to add my bucket list. I love our bucket list. And whenever we cross something off, we add one more. We add to it often anyway. Right now, high on the list is Scotland, Eilean Donan in particular. It calls to me. 🙂
