Author Spotlight & Giveaway: Pamela Hearon!

*Giveaway! *Easy Entry! *International ~Ends 4/25/17
Today’s featured author is the lovely Pamela Hearon! Learn some fun facts about Pamela in this short Q&A.  Leave a comment on the blog for a chance to win!
1.What genres do you write?

Women’s fiction and Contemporary Romance.

2. Coffee or tea lover?

Both! Mornings are made for coffee, but iced tea fits the rest of the day.

3. Name one thing on your bucket list.

The Kentucky Derby!  I’m a Kentucky girl, but I’ve never been to the Derby.  (I have, however, bet on plenty of horses and drunk my share of bourbon—Four Roses, please!)

4. Do you have pets?

Not at the moment.  I lost my 17-year-old kitty, Casey, 2 years ago, to kidney failure.  I’m a cat and dog lover, though.  This is the longest I’ve ever gone without a pet.

5. When I wake up every morning I … WRITE! (or I go to Zumba and then come home and write)

6. Weirdest or unique thing you own.

A six-foot, paisley-decorated stork named Red.

7. Do you have any hobbies or particular skills?

I’m a gardener (perennial flowers) and an astronomy enthusiast.  My husband and I travel—a lot—and spend weeks at a time in a motorhome.

8. What do you hope readers will experience or gain when reading your stories?

Is “Visibility” too much of a set-up answer?  ☺ I hope readers experience a myriad of emotions from my books and come away feeling satisfied and happy that they chose to spend some time in my world.  I try to write real-life characters—people who could be your next-door neighbors and your best friends.  If they can face their ordeals and come out on the other side stronger and more resilient, then you can do it, too.

Julia Berkwith’s daughter has moved to Alaska, her beloved mother-in-law is in a nursing home, and her ex-husband is in Hawaii—with a younger woman. In her late forties, Julia is now used to being invisible. But even if she has to do it alone, she’s determined to celebrate her victory over breast cancer by hiking Italy’s Cinque Terre. And while she’s there, she can scout out treasures for her interior design business back in Kentucky.

Invigorated by the beauty of the Italian countryside, Julia seems unstoppable, until she’s injured by a rock—one that happens to belong to thirty-something stone mason Vitale DeLuca. Reluctantly, Julia accepts Vitale’s insistent offer of lodging while she recovers. But in his home, amid his exquisite sculptures, Julia sees beyond his charm and looks to something special: a talent she must bring to the world’s attention. And once she does, she plans to step aside to leave him in the spotlight. But Vitale has seen something in Julia too, something she is no longer able to recognize in herself. And he is determined to find a way to show it to her.
Poignant and uplifting, Gaining Visibility is an exhilarating story of one woman’s realization that even the deepest scars have a beauty of their own—and that it’s time to take her place in the sun once more.

  1. I sometimes read women’s fiction…usually more of a happy ending romance type…but every now and then I do. I have not read any of Pamela’s books. How fun to travel around….probably gives you great ideas for stories! Thanks for the chance!

    1. Lisoo,
As a die-hard camper, I heartily endorse rambling in a camper 🙂 The two of you alone on the road, pulling over whenever and wherever you want? ::sigh:: So romantic! And I love having my own bed and my own kitchen traveling with me. Give it a try. I think you’ll like it!

    1. Hi Tracee,
I hope you’ll give Gaining Visibility a go. If you’re more of a romance fan, trust me when I tell you there’s a great romance woven into it. I never stray too far from my pure romance roots–or at least, I haven’t yet! 😉

  2. I enjoy reading fiction for women. As a church librarian, I would like to see more fiction for men, written by men. I am not familiar with Pamela’s books but thanks for introducing me to a new author.
