1. What genres do you write?
Romantic Comedy (chick lit), Romantic Suspense/Mystery, Romantic Women’s Fiction
2. Coffee or tea lover?
Neither! I don’t like any hot beverages.
3. Name one thing on your bucket list.
To live in Tuscany for a season.
4. Do you have pets?
Yes! I have three dogs.
Josey is a Cavachon (half Bichon Frise, half Cavalier King Charles Spaniel)
Gabe is a Havanese
Dexter is a mutt (half border collie and half American bulldog according to the pound, but who knows!)
5. When I wake up every morning I… feed the dogs, check Facebook and email, and intend to do yoga. I say intend because it doesn’t always happen!
6. Weirdest or unique thing you own.
Hmm. I can’t think of anything! I guess it might be weird how many nail polishes I have? I’m a bit obsessed with colors in several areas of life….nails, clothes, walls. We had 32 wall colors in our previous house, and we have 15 colors in this one. (Thankfully, my husband owns a painting contractor and indulges my color obsession!) He built me a rack for my nail polishes, and on the rare occasion someone visits the house and sees inside the master bath, they always ooh and aah over it. I attached a pic.
7. Do you have any hobbies or particular skills?
One of my hobbies is movies. I love following movies, watching movies, reviewing movies, talking about movies. Each year, I go with a group of friends to the Oscar Best Picture Showcase, where we watch all the Oscar Best Picture nominees back to back over two Saturdays. Usually four or five films each day. So in the movie season leading up to Oscars, I do a lot of research to see who the frontrunners are to try and gamble on which movies I go see in theaters. Usually there is one or two that I didn’t expect and I end up watching them again at Showcase, but I do pretty well with intentionally missing the nominees before Showcase weekends.
My other hobbies are travel–I get as much joy out of researching and planning the trip as I do actually taking it–and acting in community theater, though I haven’t had time to be on stage since I started pursuing publishing full-time.
8. What do you hope readers will experience or gain when reading your stories?
My goal is always to make people laugh and make them think.
I hope my readers can relate to my characters in some way, and I always strive to incorporate humor as well as real-life lessons in each of my books.

I’ve fallen in love twice in my life.
The first time, I was nineteen. Naïve. Passionate. Willing to believe fairy tales existed.
The choices I made for love back then ruined my ballet career, destroyed my dreams, and left my heart shattered. I survived by closing myself off to any possibility of repeating the same mistakes.
This time, I’m forty-nine. Older. Wiser. Unwilling to give up my independence and risk losing myself again.
But this city girl has never danced with a cowboy before, and his rugged good looks and gentle charm are threatening to tumble the walls I’ve built around my fragile heart.
The past has a way of coming back around, though, and sometimes we can’t escape the mistakes we’ve made.
This standalone novel in the Tales Behind the Veils series is a roller coaster ride of emotions with parallel love stories that prove love is a risk no matter what age you are.
Winner is Sue Gal.
