It amazes me how authors like Kristan Higgins, can string words together and create a world full of excitement and laughter, then blend in the realities of life, with drama, concern and sorrow, yet filled with so much pure love, and others so superficial. How in a matter of 8-11 hrs, you can be whisked away into the character’s lives, which can span from days to weeks or months, even years, making you feel a part of their journey, laughing one minute, then crying the next.
Every time I finish a book by Kristan Higgins, it just lightens my heart. I’m engaged and find myself thinking of things to say to the characters, rooting for them during hard times, as if they were real.
A CHANGE OF HEART
by Sonali Dev
A CHANGE OF HEART is filled with all kinds of heart. This deeply emotional story begins with heartache, as Dr. Nikhil ‘Nic’ Joshi continues to struggle with the loss of his wife, Jen, who was murdered. Nic’s heartbreak is palpable throughout the beginning of the story, as only Sonali Dev can pour such feelings onto the page.
Jess Koirala will do anything in a heartbeat to protect her son, even if she risks hurting Nic’s heart to keep her precious child from harm. There are also heartless characters who pressure Jess to complete a mission, adding mystery and suspense throughout the story.
Whenever I think of or crave milk chocolate, the Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar in particular, this amazing and delicious multicultural read by Sonali Dev, A BOLLYWOOD AFFAIR comes to mind. Mili Rathod, the heroine loves Hershey’s Milk Chocolate and I found myself wanting to enjoy the candy bar as I read along. Of Course, there are other delectable Indian dishes I wanted to try from the story, but for National Milk Chocolate day, this particular milk chocolate bar reminds me of this 5 heart story.
