What genre(s) do you write?
This is probably easier for some authors to answer than it is for me. Some of my work fits neatly within the contemporary romance category while other work (especially my next series) is hedging toward something I’d call romantic women’s fiction. What’s that? Well, to me that is a love story that also dedicates a substantial amount of page time to non-romantic issues in the characters’ lives.
Coffee or tea lover?
Tea! Earl Grey, Orange Spice, Darjeeling, Lapsang Souchon, English Breakfast…and on and on. With cream and sugar, please.
It amazes me how authors like Kristan Higgins, can string words together and create a world full of excitement and laughter, then blend in the realities of life, with drama, concern and sorrow, yet filled with so much pure love, and others so superficial. How in a matter of 8-11 hrs, you can be whisked away into the character’s lives, which can span from days to weeks or months, even years, making you feel a part of their journey, laughing one minute, then crying the next.
Every time I finish a book by Kristan Higgins, it just lightens my heart. I’m engaged and find myself thinking of things to say to the characters, rooting for them during hard times, as if they were real.
